Yikes!
Well, we finished our profile as I mentioned in earlier posts. But we finally got it back and it's laminated, bound and all prettied up. We showed it to Mary (our social worker) on Saturday. She was blown away (if I can say that without sounding like a jerk.) She said, "Don't send this out to anyone unless you're ready to be chosen right away." She loved it and commented that it was one of the best she's ever seen. It made us feel really good because we worked so hard at it. The pictures we chose really reflect who we are and we feel confident that there is a child waiting for us who will fit perfectly with us.
Our last home study visit went really well. Mary gave us the contact info for the counselor to the birthmother in CT. After talking to Mary face to face, Sean and I both agree that it doesn't hurt to send this profile to this birthmother. She hasn't looked at any profiles yet but her social worker is gathering a bunch of them so she can look through them all on Friday of this week. So, ours will be one of them. A little nervewracking? Yes! Especially because her due date is April 12th and we would have A LOT to do to prepare if we were chosen. It's mailing out today! I can't even believe it - our fingerprints aren't back yet, our physical results haven't mailed yet, we haven't even paid Mary her home study balance! But, this could be a window of opportunity. A sweet friend of ours (Kelly) said to us over the weekend that this could be our baby finding us. In that case, we don't want to pass him/her by.

I'm so excited for both of you! and excited to be a grandma maybe sooner than later! I agree with Mary your profile is great!(I peeked at the picture profile on the kitchen table). Good luck! I'm saying my prayers for you that your baby "finds" you this year.

Yeah! This is so exciting and I'm sure that Mary is right and that you will have a lot of birth mothers choosing the both of you! I will be thinking of you guys on Friday and keeping my fingers crossed for this baby b/c he or she would be so lucky to have you both as parents.
