Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Tornado's, Flash Floods, thunderstorms, gail force winds...these were all the things that interfered with us getting to Texas tonight. We should be on our flight right now but instead we are at home writing this.
I should have known it was going to be a rocky day for us when Sean picked me up from work and had his baseball hat sitting on his lap. Apparently he had a rough time at the gas station...his jeans had a blow out as he stepped back into the car. They ripped in the crotch. Maybe an 8 inch rip - possibly 9 inches. So we drove to McDonalds and he had to change his jeans in the bathroom. Poor Sean...one can only imagine his patience level after this. We drove to Laguardia anyway.

When we got there, all flights except ours were cancelled. We found out that our flight still hadn't left Ft. Worth and it was now 6:20pm. It's a 5 hour flight but they hadn't updated the monitors to display the right times. Together, we made the decision to rebook.
We rebooked ourselves on the first flight out tomorrow morning leaving at 7am and getting to Texas at 9:50am. We will miss a portion of the orientation but we called them and they assured us we were fine whenever we got there. So we cancelled our hotel and delayed our rental car until tomorrow and we drove home.

Good news is we are still really excited about tomorrow! We're not discouraged about today and I am definitely not reading into anything. We're going to get to Texas tomorrow and get this started.
Right now, we are decompressing and laughing our butts off at The Office.
Who knew we'd have something to write already and we haven't even gotten there yet!

Thanks for all the kind words and messages we've received.

Love,
Des and Sean
