Homestudy visit tomorrow - 9am!

Merry Christmas! I can't believe it's taken me this long to blog since my last entry. I must say, it's nearly impossible to blog with a two year old pulling on my leg. A mighty cute two year old I will add. What a fun Christmas it was for us this year. Jake was so excited about Santa and presents and reindeer...it made it extremely fun for us to experience it through his eyes.

We've been working furiously on our adoption paperwork. I contacted Mary to get the home study started right away but scheduling conflicts and snowstorms got in the way of our scheduled appointments. So tomorrow is our first home study for this adoption. I've been working on our profile and must admit, it's not as easy this time around. The first time we wrote a "Dear birthmother" letter, it was comfortable to describe how we longed to become parents. It's different this time around since we do have Jake...my choice of words are more careful. Nonetheless, the profile is coming together. Thank God for Shutterfly and their photo book feature! I did the profile for Jake's adoption by hand. It was a very nice scrapbook that took me months to complete. I started the Shutterfly photo book last week and I am almost finished. Again, it's a little more challenging this time around since we have Jake. He is in almost every photo I'm using and I mention him on every page. I question to myself, "Is it too much Jake? Not enough?" I am hoping Mary can give me some guidance tomorrow.
Let's hope Jake is on his best behavior tomorrow and shows Mary what a great job we are doing as parents. We only have one more home study visit after this one so our opportunities to impress her are limited. I just hope Mary doesn't ask Jake if he wants a little brother or sister. When I asked him that tonight his answer was, "No thank you, mommy."
